On September 10, 2010 motorcycle riders from all over the world embarked on a 3,294 mile ride across the US. The ride began on the East coast and ended on the West on pre-1916 motorcycles.
On Tuesday September 27, riders that made the enduring ride entered the Santa Monica pier to finish the race.
Who won?
Virginia resident, Bradford P. Wilmarth finished the race 1st, after holding the position for several days prior. Bradford competed all 3,294 miles on his 1913 Excelsior (Class II). He also won the award for the oldest motorcycle to complete all miles in the race.
Second place went to Alan Travis, also on an Excelsior (1914) and third went to Rick McMaken on a Class III 1915 Harley-Davidson, both second and third also completed the entire route. In fact the top 10 positions all completed the 3,294 miles.
